Kicking Caesar’s Dog – Part V

When I’d mentioned to my husband, back in  June, that I hadn’t paid the county my small business taxes  for 2011, he’d said, “Don’t kick a sleeping dog.” (see blogs 6/12,14,16,18/2012)

I kicked the dog.

Yesterday I received tax forms from the county.

The original amount I owed was nominal. With penalties and late interest, the amount isn’t a wee bit that makes this experience just fun fodder for blogging. I’m almost wishing I’d walked past that mutt.

I don’t feel better having paid these taxes. I feel like a doofus.

The worst part is, I have a sneaking suspicion that this won’t be the end of it. A queasy pang in my gut tells me I’m going to get a letter from the county. . . and I don’t mean a love letter either.
