I was leafing through my journal, and “What the . . .?” Back in 2008, I’d cut out and pasted each of the 22 Tarot cards on its own page. Then I’d copied down the affirmation that goes with each particular card.
Creepy, man. Creepy. Satan’s tools for sure.
Here’s the affirmation for The Star card: “I have a guiding light which will ever live within.”
Here’s The Devil card: “I accept my earthly limitations, my demons and divas both.”
The World card affirmation goes like this: “Universal forces guide my steps, helping me fulfill the earthly plan.”
Reading some of the affirmations reminded me of the serpent tantalizing Eve with “you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” The adjectives arrogant, self-centered, prideful came to mind.
I rewrote three of the Tarot affirmations.
“You, God, are the guiding light, the Holy Spirit will ever live within me.”
“I accept Jesus as my Savior. Satan has been vanquished when you hung on the cross for our sins.”
“The Holy Spirit guides my steps, helping me fulfill God’s plan.”
(Snip, snip. Ri-i-i-ip. Thunk.)
I cut the Tarot pages out of my journal and threw them away.
